SoR voices concerns over acts of discrimination

January 27, 2023 -- In an open letter, the U.K. Society of Radiographers (SoR) has urged for students to report incidents of concern. It wants all members to remain vigilant for acts of discrimination.

The letter comes after the society received some "concerning reports" from members who witnessed "unacceptable behaviours" toward students on clinical placement. Such behaviors include racial discrimination, sexually inappropriate and discriminatory language, and noninclusive practices.

The SoR asks students and members to report such incidents to their respective universities, as well as reach out to the society for support.

The society also wrote that its position is to be a fully inclusive organization and that its professional duty is "to challenge discrimination and promote inclusivity."
