January 3, 2023 -- A tanker truck explosion on Christmas Eve killed 10 health workers at Tambo Memorial Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa, and badly damaged the hospital's x-ray department and emergency unit, according to a report on ABC News.

The "fire bomb" from the explosion also killed 24 other people and injured at least 321. The truck had been carrying gas when it got stuck under a low-lying bridge about 110 yards away from the hospital, sparking flames and leading to a "fire bomb" explosion, ABC News reported.
