February 16, 2022 -- France's national radiology society, the SFR, has posted a tribute to Prof. Farida Imani, who passed away on 22 January in Rabat, Morocco, after she contracted COVID-19.

Alongside the renowned Dr. Jacques Gillet, Imani trained generations of radiologists and was a pioneer of medical imaging in Morocco, according to the SFR. Between 1977 and 2010, she was chair of the radiology department at the Centre Hospitalo-Universitaire Ibn Sina de Rabat (CHUIS). She was also president of the Moroccan Society of Radiology.

Furthermore, Imani was accredited to the Royal Palace and made numerous scientific communications and publications, SFR stated. One of her many achievements was to organize the 25th International Congress of Radiology, held in Marrakesh in June 2008.
