Dr. Bruce Haffty named president of RSNA board

December 6, 2021 -- The RSNA named prominent radiation oncologist Dr. Bruce Haffty as the new president of its board on 1 December at its annual meeting.

Haffty is associate vice chancellor of cancer programs at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences and chair of radiation oncology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His areas of specialization include breast cancer and head and neck cancer.

Haffty's leadership roles include serving as president of the American Board of Radiology, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and the American Radium Society.

Among other positions at the RSNA, he has served on the board of directors since 2014 and on the RSNA News editorial board from 2009 to 2015. Haffty's focus for the next year will be on the value and empowerment of imaging, according to the RSNA.
